Typically, outdoor tennis becomes much more of an ordeal over the winter months. Whilst I have seen some club members playing outside at local tennis clubs, here on Wirral we have an alternative.

In the early 90’s we were lucky enough to have a multi-activity leisure centre built. And if you visit the indoor tennis centre site you’ll be able to see the Wirral Tennis Centre on the map. I’ve played tennis at this centre several years ago with colleagues and it’s a really nice complex with good quality facilities.

As my wife and daughters joined a local club last year I’m now being pestered to take the final place in a doubles match. I might be in the market for a new racket soon …if I get one I’ll publish some photos.

Not only did Andy Murray win his match at Wimbledon last night, he also won over a large number of viewers who probably hadn’t really taken to him previously.

It was a good match to watch – you kind of thought that by the start of the fifth set it was Murrays to lose. Nadal next …hmmm
